Next Sketch Outing
Sunday, Sep 21: Ballard Old Town

Couldn't quite finish this drawing of the First Church of Christ Scientist on Capitol Hill before the raindrops came. What a surprise to see how this Seattle landmark has been converted into twelve condominium apartments. Check out the floor plans at The Sanctuary's website: liveatsanctuary.com.
We were lucky to dodge rain drops at our sketchcrawl this morning. The sun actually came out for a bit so we were able to see light and shadow. I waited at my spot long enough to capture the light and shadow on the east side of the building. We had a few new people show up this morning Sara, Clayton, Robin and Jess. Contact us if you want to join the google group and blog. There is a Google group subscribe widget on the side bar of this blog. The google group will let you know before hand where we are going to be sketching.
This is the sketch of the east entry to the First Church of Christ Scientist. It would have been wonderful to go in and see the interiors but it has been made into condominiums.
This Sunday we are meeting for a sketch crawl on Capitol Hill by Group Health and First Church of Christ Scientist. Rain or shine we will meet up at 10 AM on the corner of 15th Ave East and East Denny. If it is miserable and rainy we will just walk down the street towards the cafes on 15th and sketch under the awnings or in the cafe's.
Hope to see you there.
