Monthly Outing!

Coming up next:

Sunday, October 15:  Funko Store in Everett

2802 Wetmore Avenue, Everett, WA 98201

Funko, maker of pop culture collectible toys, opened its flagship store in downtown Everett this past summer. Although Everett is a bit further north than we typically go, the sculptures of Chewbacca, Harry Potter, Batman and other pop icons above the store’s awnings are worth the drive!

Of note for historic architecture fans: Funko is housed in the former Bon Marche department store built in the ‘20s. The building is now on Everett’s historic register and is also known as the Port Gardner Building. Instead of fashioned mannequins and holiday décor, the show windows hold more colorful iconic bodies. Across the street on two sides are buildings with deep awnings, which make ideal sketching shelters in case of inclement weather.

Meet at 10 a.m. outside the store’s main entrance on Wetmore Avenue and California Street. Free, unlimited street parking. (The store opens at 11.)
