Georgetown Senior Moment......
There is a good reason to write your name and e-mail address on the inside cover of your sketch book 'caus if you ever set it down on a window ledge while packing up your art stuff and walk off without it, you might luck out and have a good Samaritan let you know they found it.
My thanks to Tim De Clue of Le OBJECTS for finding and returning my book, I'm very grateful.
Georgetown is still rough around the edges. The red brick and green building in this sketch is home to the Ro Ro Tavern. One block from here was a rough looking house with a barren front porch covered with empty beer bottles, full ash trays and battered chairs. A home-made painted sign above the porch in cursive writing read:
We are not to be trifled with...
Thought better of stopping to sketch there.
