This pagoda was tucked in a neighborhood that I found on bicycle. I bought a beer and coconut peanuts from a woman with a little store here. She came out and made sure I bowed with clasped hands to this and the other pagoda across the street. When she saw I was drawing it, she brought out another beer and peanuts for me, as well as a bowl and spoon, opening the peanuts for me. She was touched that I would draw the pagoda, and wrote her address down so thatIi could send her a copy.

ReplyDeleteI love the way you framed this leading in with the wall from where you stand in the foreground.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Don. I love the story too. I think people really feel honored when we sketch the places they love. Precious travel moments.
