Labor Day Weekend at Quilcene
This weekend we were fortunate enough to be invited to stay at a friends cabin off of Dabob Bay. Lots of clamming, oyster picking, fishing...but none caught except on huge dogfish!
It was sunny, windy, rainy...with lightning and thunder...all the weather you could want...
Here is a sketch of the cabin which was built by the family 35 years ago...it had great character!
There were moments of dramatic lighting coming through the trees. Really hard to capture it but I tried.
The clouds were spectacular. Blue skies above and dark threatening clouds below. Pretty amazing sight.
The weekend ended in a great harvest feast at a friend's house with the oysters and clams we harvested, salmon (not caught), sweet tomatoes, corn, figs, pears from everyone's garden. It felt like thanksgiving dinner. A great weekend in the Northwest.
